For the first couple volumes, I found the main story to be meh, but the side stories about young Yojiri to be very interesting. But even though the anime-style comedy continues, there is an undercurrent of dread. Yojiri kills a lot of things, but even when he doesn't kill, it doesn't necessarily mean those who tried to hurt him or his friends are safe. So many people drunk on their own power die pointlessly. Yojiri represents the idea that nothing is immortal or eternal. Everything dies eventually. He is this concept personified. I hope the side story eventually gets to the point of him attending school. On that note, a being like him attending a regular school seems utterly insane, considering the lengths the government went to contain him. So I'm sure the school he went to was full of 'special individuals'. Tomochika and her Dannoura style "archery", the "Saint" with the god-cats, a couple of ninjas (one a total weeb), and so on. More secrets I'm looking to have revealed.And the Yojiri side story was interesting. Keeping a baby wrapped in an illusion so he can't murder the world because he's hungry. A malevolent being attempting to feed on Asaka's fear before killing her, only to be executed by Yojiri for attempting to kill his mother figure. Just so so good. Can't wait for the next one.
